Tabitha, impressed with how well he fixed the equipment, took Raul hostage to further use his skill set. Raul found Black Mountain and approached Tabitha about fixing the radio equipment. Raul, thinking that the radio station simply ceased functioning due to faulty equipment, left Two Sun and travelled west to offer his services.
īlack Mountain Radio would be off the air for quite some time until Raul Tejada would travel to Black Mountain after having heard Marcus' old message about a mutant community. However, the message cast such a wide net that it attracted Tabitha, and when she arrived at Black Mountain in 2278 and organized most second generation Super Mutants against Marcus, he had realized his time was up at and destroyed the radio equipment before abandoning Black Mountian to found Jacobstown at Mount Charleston. Black Mountain Radio could be heard from as far east as the Four States Commonwealth and brought mutants far and wide to Black Mountain. Marcus' friendly personality and rallying message to mutants amplified through radio helped bolster Black Mountain into a sizeable mutant community. During Marcus' leadership in 2277, Black Mountain Radio earned a favorable reputation as being the outcast alternative to Radio New Vegas.
